The fall is the time of year when all the bounty of the summer comes to fruition, whether pumpkin, corn cobs or pheasants, all are ripe for the picking. In England the pheasant shooting season is about to begin, and preparations for halloween and bonfire night begin.
So let’s paint a pair of pheasants sitting in a cornfield enjoying the late summer sunshine.
Materials for Painting a Pair of Fall Pheasants
I used a sheet of Fabriano Artistico for the painting, and a Kuretake waterbrush to do the actual painting. The colors I used were Burnt Sienna, Quinacridone Gold, Olive Green, Potters Pink, Alizarin Crimson, Pthalo Blue, Winsor Violet and Hansa Yellow. I suggest Daniel Smith watercolors if you are looking for artists quality, or Grumbacher Academy if you are looking for student quality.
