Paint Your Quiet Home
The May Prize Winner Challenge – 2026
This May, Diane Antone Studio is thrilled to announce our latest community event: the “Paint Your Quiet Home” Daily Challenge.
If you’re like me, a quiet home is a wonderful blessing and it deserves to be celebrated – which is what we’re inviting you to do in this month’s challenge. This isn’t just about building a daily art habit, it’s also about noticing the extraordinary beauty hidden within the four walls of your sanctuary and bringing it to the light.
What is the Challenge?
I have chosen a list of 28 home-based prompts to help you on this journey. From the “useful” drawer that holds a thousand stories to the soft texture of a favorite blanket, these prompts encourage you to slow down and appreciate the domestic details that usually fade into the background.
To participate and be eligible for our special May Prize, you must share at least 21 of your 28 challenge prompt paintings by May 31st.
You can share on the Diane Antone Studio Members’ Group on Facebook, or on our new Community on YouTube where you can post your entry.
The Prize: One lucky participant will be chosen as the month’s winner and will receive a great surprise gift sent to them anywhere in the world direct from our studio!
It’s our way of saying thank you for being a part of our friendly art community.
How to Take Part: Prompts, Styles, and Materials
We want this challenge to let you express yourself in many different ways. There are no right ways to paint. Make your own choice to match the prompt and let your feelings out.
The Prompts: Our 28 prompts include items like “Something you take to bed each night,” “A kitchen tool you love,” and “An object you mean to use but never do.”
These are jumping-off points for your imagination. As you interpret the prompt, you can be literal, humorous, or even abstract in what you create. It’s your painting!
The Styles: Don’t feel locked into one look. Variety is after all the spice of life!
Choose from loose watercolor one day and more realistic pencil the next. Experiment with negative space, try a little whimsy and mark-making … now’s the time to bring the heart into your home through your fingers.
The Materials:
You might be a firm fan of watercolor like me, but a change is as good as a rest! Break out that biro (ballpoint pen!) or the grandkids’ markers and see what you can do! You can even get experimental with coffee or tea as paint (but hold the milk!)
Why Join Us?
The “Paint Your Quiet Home” challenge is a community journey! By sharing your work with the #myquiethome hashtag and posting in our Members’ Group, you connect with fellow artists from around the world. You’ll see how twenty different people interpret “Something glass and reflective” or “A food you love to eat.” It is a beautiful way to build your skills, establish a daily creative habit, and find inspiration in the community.
So are you ready to pick up your brush? Download the guideline sheet, clear a small space on your desk, and let’s start painting our quiet homes together. I can’t wait to see what you create!
