This quick and easy tutorial is for the dog-lovers in your life! In just a few minutes you can create a simple, effective Christmas Card, and you don’t have to stick to the yellow color – brown or black would work just as well! You can get the free sketch here.
I did this painting on a sheet of Clairefontaine Etival 140lb cold press watercolor paper. This is a good quality cellulose paper ideal for Christmas cards, as it is stiff enough to stand alone, and can tolerate corrections, as well as not being very expensive. I used just four colors for the painting, from any standard paint box, Naples Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Vermillion and Cobalt Blue.
I used Drawell watercolor brushes. You can buy these excellent brushes easily direct from Japan. Here is a link to their webpage. They do speak English if you wish to contact them. If you have any questions please drop me a line by email at dianeantone@hotmail.com
I also recomment ZenArt Black Tulip brushes. There’s a link to them below.
