Tutorials using Traditional Watercolors

I show you how to paint this easy colourful rooster painting using my traditional watercolor paints - you only need four colors plus black to create this vibrant painting. We start by learning about the split primary palette of six colors, and then I show you how I modify it with an alternative yellow (quinacridone gold), blue (black) and red (burnt sienna) to achieve a wide range of vibrant colors. Nothing - because it’s painted with no expectations! Create an easy loose background wash first - I show you how to do it using a MOP BRUSH from my Diane Antone x Craftamo set (available from November 2023). Then I show you how to texturise the painted background with a simple stamping technique that only requires a piece of paper towel to achieve - using black in unexpected ways.
