Welcome to this week’s newsletter! As January begins to draw to a close many of us are feeling inspired to create new art for the coming year.

Maybe you are thinking about starting a new sketchbook where you’ll collate all your year’s paintings. There are an infinite number of choices out there, and you’ll find a few recommended ones in my Amazon shops.

I recommend you stick to 140lb cold pressed paper which will give you a reliable surface for your work whether it be pure watercolor, gouache, dry media or any other substance you care to throw at it!
|

|
|
Maybe you are looking to add new dimensions to your work by choosing new paints or other media which will enhance your work?
|
|
|

I’ve been using good old Daniel Smith Primatek paints lately for our January Daily Challenge #lightoutofdarkness, because they are moody and bring a touch of the mystical to the paintings you do.
