MORE good news for Patreon supporters!

Last week we added a new playlist - or as Patreon calls it a “Collection” - of 20 ad-free videos available to ALL paying Patrons, from Support level up. This Collection is called “Begin with Watercolor Painting” and you will find it when you click on “Collections” in the tabs just below the banner on the home page.

This Collection will give you a taste of the benefit of our ad-free videos, and if you are a Patron you will also be getting the special members only videos and posts that I'm putting up daily for January’s #lightoutofdarkness challenge.

And this week we have added a second Collection called “More Watercolor Painting.” This consists of 30 more ad-free videos specially chosen to take you to the next level of painting. You will find it in the same place as the Begin with Watercolor Painting Collection, i.e. just beneath the banner under the tab "Collections". This is available to everyone in the second tier “Relaxation” and above.
We hope you will enjoy these Collections. There are more coming soon, which will help you to easily find something to paint when you are lacking ideas.

Bargains of the Week

Amazon have got Daniel Smith Watercolor at a great price with up to 36% off - that’s more than one THIRD OFF the regular price of some colors.

The price for Buff Titanium is not to be missed! The range is going out of stock quickly, but you might be lucky and get a bargain on that color you've been longing for!

Meeden have a sale on right now too.

Their set of 24 tubes of watercolor paint are already a fantastic deal at $17.95, but with 17% off in the sale plus your 10% discount by using our code DIANE10 you can get them for about 50 cents a tube!
ps. If you're looking for something else to buy to get free shipping from Meeden... I suggest their paper or their ceramic palettes. And don't forget the code DIANE10 for an extra 10% off.

pps. The Daniel Smith sale is probably only relevant to the US, and Meeden only sell to the US, UK, Canada and Australia. If (like us) you don't live in one of those countries, please ignore the above information - and let's all try not to feel too hard done by when it comes to online shopping!!

We're so glad you're enjoying our brush set!

Thank you to those of you who have purchased a set of Diane Antone x Craftamo brushes, and especially to those of you who have taken the time to tell us how much you're enjoying using them!
It takes time to get to know new brushes - I am still getting to know my own set! - and I hope they will continue to surprise and excite you, and to lead your creativity in new directions.
If you've been thinking about buying a set but you aren't sure whether they're right for you or not, you might find the reviews helpful. As I'm writing this, there are 62 reviews on Craftamo's website, all of which are 5 star reviews and many of which go into quite a lot of detail and will be helpful to anyone who's trying to make their mind up!

Check out our latest LOOOOONG VIDEO!

If you need something to fill the silence around you while you cook, iron or hopefully, paint, you need look no further.
Yes, YouTube is full of videos but what if you could just click play once and have over 3 hours of our quiet and peaceful watercolor tutorials to keep you company while you work or play?

That's just what our Non-Stop Tutorials are all about! No decisions, no surprises, just uninterrupted watercolor.

There are now 9 videos adding up to 30 hours of tutorials.

It's not too late to join #lightoutofdarkness!

If you are a new YouTube Member or Patron we warmly welcome you to join January's #lightoutofdarkness challenge.

This week saw the birth of a fantastic idea in our Members' private Facebook group - the catchup painting! Combining prompts from multiple days into one painting is a brilliant way of catching up on a challenge, but of course it's equally fine to start half way through the month, pick and choose your favorites, or only paint when you have time or when you feel like it. (After all, no one is going to be grading our homework!!)

If you are a paying YouTube Member or Patreon Supporter and you don't know what I'm talking about, I offer a daily prompt or challenge or inspiration which you will find either on YouTube in the Membership tab, on Patreon in the Daily Challenges collection, or in the Private Members Facebook Group (this is the LEAST reliable way of finding things - as we all know, things tend to disappear randomly on Facebook - so if you're missing something please look on YouTube or Patreon, wherever you're a paying member.)

Here are some of my recent #lightoutofdarkness paintings, all of which have video tutorials available for Members and Patrons. Clicking on the thumbnails below will take you to them on Patreon:

To Inspire You...

January can be a difficult month, and when life is particularly challenging our hobbies can easily become something discouraging rather than uplifting. So here is a little poem for all of us who are in need of a boost.

Blossoms of Brushstrokes

In the world of watercolor so bright,
Where colors blend and dance with light,
New painters bloom, a journey to start,
With every brushstroke, a work of heart.

Fear not the canvas, vast and white,
Your journey unfolds, embrace the delight.
Mistakes are but whispers, lessons to find,
In every stroke, your unique art is defined.

Let hues of courage and patience flow,
Like a gentle river, let your creativity grow.
Each drop of doubt, let it fade away,
For in every wash, a masterpiece holds sway.

No need for perfection in each gentle stroke,
Your journey's a masterpiece, a tale bespoke.
With each layer of learning, let confidence rise,
In the watercolor world, your spirit never denies.

So, dip your brush, let your imagination soar,
You're an artist in bloom, forevermore.
In the watercolor dance, find your own grace,
Embrace the joy of creating, at your own pace.
