Hi Insiders!

I've been busy unwrapping parcels this week, and inspired by some of Viviva's and Meeden's latest products I'm planning a March of Mini Magic for you!

Let's Start with Viviva...

The box of goodies from Viviva arrived recently and you may have seen my recent video on YouTube exploring everything they sent me. Here's a recap of what they sent:
Remember we have a permanent discount code with Viviva Colors - DIANEANTONE gives you 10% off your first order.
I was amazed by how different the three Viviva sketchbooks were, each with their own personalities and each giving a very different result when I used the same techniques on them. (You can see this for yourself if you watch the video.)

It's easy to underestimate the power of paper when you're learning watercolor, and it's easy to take the blame when unexpected things happen - things that are actually caused by not having enough experience with the different thicknesses, surface textures, sizing and types of pulp used to make paper. These three sketchbooks from Viviva are a great sample of the types of paper watercolor artists can play with.

New in from Meeden...

You've probably noticed by now that I love Meeden paper. For me it strikes such a perfect balance, keeping the beautiful blending properties of cotton while also somehow being forgiving and allowing you to correct mistakes (up to a point!).

So when our contact at Meeden got in touch to tell us that they've launched a new mini pad, just 4" x 3", in their 100% cotton paper, I was very excited to be able to share it with you! I'm currently hatching plans for a Mini March Magic theme to welcome Spring with mini botanicals so watch this space... and don't forget to use your coupon DIANE10 for your discount at Meeden Art.

And now for something shiny!

I was recently contacted by Milena Barczak of MABWatercolours in England, who asked to send me samples of her handmade metallic paints. I've been playing around with them and getting to know them for a little while now and I think anyone who junk journals, scrapbooks or makes greetings cards would find a few of them to be a great addition to their creative supplies. You can watch my first effort in the #lettherebelove Day 12 challenge linked below - which taught me that spattering metallic paint is not a good idea, unless you like everything to be covered in sparkles for the rest of eternity!!

If you visit Milena on Etsy you'll find a huge range of colors to browse through, and she's offering 10% off all orders using the code DIANE10.

Meanwhile, new on MY Etsy shop...

To Inspire You...

This week's inspiration is another poem written for us by ChatGPT, which we offer in a playful spirit as an explanation for the lack of newsletter last week!
In the realm where emails dance and twirl,
Where newsletters unfurl,
Lies a challenge, often unseen,
Where managing lists can turn quite mean.

Through cyberspace's vast expanse,
A spammer's trick, a ruthless dance,
They find their way to your sign-up form,
Causing chaos, causing storm.

With each false sign-up, a dagger's thrust,
Your list provider cries, "Enough's enough!"
They halt your sending, they halt your flow,
Leaving you stranded in woe.

But fear not, for amidst the strife,
There's hope that flickers, ignites life.
Though one week's missed, a blip, a pause,
Your resilience breaks through, it claws.

With determination, you find a way,
To thwart the spammers, come what may.
New defenses rise, strong and true,
Protecting your list, safeguarding you.

And so, with perseverance, you rise,
Above the chaos, beyond the lies.
One week may have slipped from your hand,
But your spirit, undaunted, still stands.

For in the end, through trial and test,
You've triumphed, emerged from the mess.
With mailing lists managed, stronger than before,
Ready to send, ready to soar.

And on that note I'll click send on this newsletter and cross my fingers that it arrives safely in your inbox!
Thanks for reading, and we hope you enjoyed this edition of the Insiders' Newsletter.
See you next week!
