Today we’re going to paint a 5 x 7 inch landscape inspired by the golden beauty of an early autumn evening. It's so easy to paint the grasses and seed heads silhouetted against a simple, glowing sky, with a variegated wash using rich golden yellows gradually deepening into warm orange, deep rose and chocolate brown. When you're looking for a painting where you don’t need to worry about getting everything exactly right, this is the one for you! The background colours do most of the work, then we can add the grasses, leaves and seed heads with a few confident brushstrokes.
