Lose your Troubles in Watercolor:

Gentle Line & Wash Garden Flowers (plus 2 pieces of GOOD news!)

Today we’re painting some flowers in line and wash, talking about 365 days in Nature by Lorna Scobie, and having another look at my painting set collab with Meeden. When you’ve got something weighing heavily on your mind, art might not be the first solution you would think of. But the thing about painting, especially line and watercolor wash, and even better if your subject is something out of nature, is that it fully occupies your mind and your troubles fade away. Even if only for the hour it takes to set up and paint, you can rely on your watercolors to take you to another place where you can calm down and breathe life into your painting. That’s what I’m doing today and I hope you’ll come along with me on my little journey into the peace of paint and paper.

More inspiration from 365 Days...

This is another video showing a flip-through of and then working on a page from my copy of 365 Days of Nature. This one is from August 2022. I hope you enjoy it!
Today I'm showing you one of my favorite ways to start my day in the studio - flipping through my copy of 365 Days of Art in Nature by Lorna Scobie, and choosing a page to work on. This is a very liberating way of warming up because it doesn't matter what happens. Join me as I work on page 48, which asks us to paint the sea!
