If you've visited our website recently (which I hope you have!) you will have noticed that things are a bit different where it comes to free sketches. And if you missed the recent video in which we explained the changes (which I hope you didn't!), you might be wondering whether the free sketches are in fact still free at all...

Free Sketches Update
|
|
...so this Newsletter is dedicated to making sure that all of our wonderful Studio Insiders know that the sketches ARE still free, and that all you need to do to access them is to buy a "Studio Insiders Pass" for a one-off purchase of $1.
|
|
|
|
Once you've purchased the pass you'll automatically get 10 credits every month to use for sketch downloads.
|
|
Plus you'll now be able to download the sketches you want in one click - no more checking out for free sketches!! And the download links will never expire, so if you need to re-download at any time that's fine, it won't use another credit.
|
|
|
|
|
|
If you don't already have an account on our website, you can now easily create one during checkout.
|
|
|
|

If you are a member of the middle or top tier, you have UNLIMITED sketches as a perk. All you need to do is email us when you're running low, and we'll add extra credits.

Here's how you use your new Studio Insiders Pass to download a sketch:
|

Step 1
Make sure you’re logged in
|
Click the head and shoulders icon at the top of the page.
|
|
If you're logged in it will take you to your account details.
|
|
If you're not logged in it will prompt you to log in.
|
|
|
|
Step 2
Find the sketch you want
|
There are lots of ways of getting to the sketches. You can click a link in a video description, you can browse the sketch library, or you can use the website search tool, but once you've found it DO NOT put it in the basket.

|
|
Step 3
Click to download
|
All you have to do is click the coloured button!
|
|
|
|
|
|
Need time to decide?
|
You have to download sketches one at a time with this system, so you can't add them to your basket and come back to them later. But there’s now a Wishlist feature on the website, which you can use if you want to think about which sketches you want to use your credits for. Just click the heart icon where it says ‘Add to Wishlist’. You can view your Wishlist here.

Having Trouble Making it Work?
|
|
We've put answers to the two most common questions below, but if you have any questions or problems we haven't answered please send us a message using our contact form.
|
|
Q. I don't see the button. What do I do?
|
|
A. If you don’t see the coloured rectangle, either you’re not logged in, or you haven’t bought the Studio Insiders Pass, or you’ve used up all of your credits for this month.
|
|
Q. I've clicked the button. Nothing happened.
|
|
A. When you click on the coloured button, your sketch will be automatically be downloaded to your device and one credit will be deducted from your balance. Some devices will open the sketch automatically, but others will (rather unhelpfully!) just save it to files or to a downloads folder without showing you the file. If you aren't familiar with where downloads go on your device this can be pretty frustrating, but there's usually some indication of what's happening somewhere on your screen. You might see a popup banner or bar at the top or bottom of the page. Or you might see an animated icon flash or change color to indicate what you click on to open your downloads folder. Keep your eyes open for these popups and icons! If you're really stuck, try Googling "where do downloads go on a ___" or "how do I find downloads on a ___".

Did you say something about spammers?
|
If you've read this far and are wondering what all of this has got to do with spammers, well, it's to do with the fact that websites which offer things for free are easier to take advantage of, and harder to protect from spam.
|
This new system of asking for a one-off nominal $1 payment makes it possible for us to tell the difference between real people (with bank accounts and addresses) and spammers. And that makes it possible for us to re-open automatic account registration, and to keep the library of tutorial sketches free to everyone.
