This newsletter was originally going to be about the launch of exciting new EXCLUSIVE video content that we're adding to Patreon starting in July. And it still is about that... but the launch just got even better, because we've decided to celebrate 150k subscribers by creating a "150k SPECIAL EDITION" Patreon Tier which gives you all the new perks for less - for ever!

And please rest assured that when we say "adding" we mean just that. We aren't taking ANYTHING away. Our YouTube content is staying exactly as it is, with three tutorials a week.

1. Exclusive In-Depth "Take it Further" video tutorials
|
One of the best parts of my job is walking alongside you as you follow your own artistic path, and with nearly 3 million hours of tutorials watched on our channel I know that many of you are ready to take your watercolors further!
|
|
In my new exclusive "Take it Further" tutorials I will choose a recent painting that I've created for a YouTube tutorial and take the idea further by working it up into a more developed painting. I will discuss and show everything that's involved in composition, color choices, preparatory sketches, techniques, and so on in more detail than YouTube allows. And as always I'll be ready to answer your questions.

2. Exclusive Community Live Premieres (or "Drops")
|
Our world is so fast-paced that it's easy for new ideas to appear, disappear and be forgotten before we've had a chance to properly process them. Swipe away (or accidentally refresh your screen) and you never see it again. This can be frustrating, to say the least!
|
|
My new "Community Drops" will recap the content that's been posted to YouTube in recent weeks; summarise the new styles, techniques and products that I've been exploring; update you with anything I've discovered since filming the YouTube video; and include a Q&A session which will make it possible for me to answer your questions in more depth than YouTube comments allow. You'll be able to submit questions for the Q&A in advance, and I'll be chatting with you live when the video premieres (or "drops" as Patreon now puts it).

3. DAILY Ad-Free Tutorials
|
As our social media feeds, including YouTube, become more and more unpredictable and often undesirable, I think Patreon is going to become more and more important as a safe place to turn to when you don't want any surprises.
|
We started our ad-free tutorial library on Patreon with exactly this in mind - so you could stay tuned in for as long as you like without any auto-play surprises and without even needing to hear any commercials.
|
We haven't added any ad-free content for a while now, but as of today we are re-committing to adding to the Ad-Free Tutorials Collection on Patreon DAILY, until the entire catalogue of about 750 YouTube tutorials is available ad-free on Patreon. And that will include the 3 and 4 hour compilation videos!
|
|
As well as catching up with the back-catalogue, from now on we'll also be uploading NEW tutorials to Patreon for ad-free viewing shortly after they are published on YouTube. And as always, if there's a sketch to go with it Patrons can download it as either a jpg or a pdf in a single click, with no need to visit our website.
